Our sambal turkey burger features a deliciously seasoned turkey patty in a soft bun. But what really makes the burger stand out is the sambal sauce we've topped it with. We delight in the fact that a single ingredient, only found in certain regions, can create such authentic and amazing flavors. It is native to the cuisines of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. It's a savory sauce with a kick that is made from a mixture of chili peppers minus excessive heat. Tiny burger and huge flavor: your well-traveled friends will nod knowingly.
TIPS FOR PERFECTION
Heating these in the microwave seems counterintuitive, but it really does steam them to keep them soft and heated thoroughly. A great way to show off your international chops is to serve on banana leaves or with tropical flowers.
MICROWAVE (for best results):
1. Remove burgers from tray.
2. Wrap 6 burgers in a paper towel and place on a microwave safe plate.
3. Microwave for 60-90 seconds or until heated through.
4. Microwave cooking times may vary.
1. Preheat oven to 400° for 10 minutes
2. REMOVE PLASTIC packaging and place burgers in a large piece of foil. Sprinkle up to 1
tablespoon of water evenly on the top to create steam and seal foil tightly.
3. Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until heated through.
4. Let stand a few minutes before serving.
